Crustacea collection at ZMUC
The crustacean collection at the ZMUC has only been partly registered. We have extracted three types of material lists from our database for this web page: (1) A complete list of type material with registration numbers, (2) A list of material used by J. C. Fabricius, (3) A complete species list of all identified crustacean material (see below).
The responsible curator for the crustacean collection is Jørgen Olesen.

Crustacea type material
All type material in the Zoological Museum of Copenhagen has been catalogued and identified with unique registration numbers.
A complete list of the material is available, including information on the relevant literature. Researchers wishing to obtain more information or borrow material should contact curator Jørgen Olesen.
Due to size, the list has been split over 6 pages:
species a - b
species c - f
species g - l
species m - n
species o - r
species s - z
Alternatively, you can download the entire list to your harddisk (PDF version, Excel version)

Crustacea types of J. C. Fabricius
We also present a separate list of the crustacean types of the Danish naturalist Johan Christian Fabricius (1745-1808).
J. C. Fabricius´more than 200 type specimens of decapods (mostly crabs) were originally mounted on wooden blocks. Around 1980 all these specimens were rehydrated following *Jeppesen (1988) and transferred to absolute alcohol to allow taxonomists easier access to appendages. In the present list we present photos (click the links) of all dried specimens taken before they were transferred to alcohol. (J. C. Fabricius type collection).
*Jeppesen, P. C. (1988). Use of vacuum in rehydration of biological tissue with a review of liquids used. Crustaceana 55: 268-273.
