PROTOZOA
The most significant part of the Protozoa section is a rather complete collection of Xenophyophora, including many types, originating from the Galathea expedition, and greatly extended over time through gifts, exchanges, and depositions.
Foraminifers from collections initiated from the ZMUC are mostly in the foraminifer collection of the Institute of Historical Geology and Paleontology, University of Copenhagen.
Other protozoan groups are insignificantly represented in the collections.
Current research:
Taxonomy, zoogeography and biology of xenophyophores worldwide.
